In IE,somtimes when I click on something on a page,it says website cannot be displayed. PLEASE HELP!

This has been going on for some time now. My husband is an engineer and works with intranet,so he is not able to help me.What can I do?

In IE,somtimes when I click on something on a page,it says website cannot be displayed. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!?uninstall internet explorer

Switching to Mozilla would be a really bad idea since all the security features in Vista are only available when Internet Explorer is used. Remember, as much of an evil as Microsoft may be in some people's eyes, the truth is we would all be screwed without them, and they know far more about this stuff than anyone here. So continue to use Internet Explorer.

When the message you are getting is displayed, it simply means that a link has been clicked to a web site, or web page somewhere, but it is an invalid link. In other words, there is no place on the Internet for link, so an error is displayed. This is called a "broken link", meaning that the link simply does not work. You are doing nothing wrong, and there is nothing wrong with your computer. It's just that you may be visiting websites that have outdated pages, or are poorly put together and have broken links.

it would be an old version of internet explorer, if the error is CAN'T BE DISPLAYED.. use a new version.. 6 or 7..

some pages need a special plug in, like flash player or java... is it only a page, or any website?
Your cookie settings are too high. Some pages are rejected totally for this reason. Go to Tools, Internet Options, Security, and turn down the security setting to Medium / Medium High. Alot of sites / webpages require cookies to be transferred and you could argue this is a security risk but you wont see the pages unless you allow cookies.

Alternatively your firewall, anti-virus or antispyware programme(s) may be selecting which sites you can see. Refer to their settings to find out- some have a blacklist of websites which they will not access to protect you.

Finally, you may have some virus or trojan on your PC which is redirecting your PC from the intended webpages to bad sites when you click. In this case you're getting the warning message because the virus or trojan was originally released some time ago and the webpage it is trying to redirect you to is no longer maintained. Do a full scan for spyware, adware, viruses and trojans.
the link was not available or was already deleted...

or

-you may also have bad dsl connection...

-some sites needed alot of bandwidth that it took so long to load on your browser

-you have alot of spyware and malware in your system...

you can always clear your temporary internet files to free your system with a lot of spyware cookies...

go to the File menu bar...

Tools

Internet options

on the General tab

look for Browsing history

and click the Delete button

there five delete options...

you can always delete the following:
